ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
The selection of candidates will be carried out for following categories as per qualitative requirement:-

Notes:
- In case a candidate is found to have made fake claims at any stage or furnished fake certificates to unfairly secure Bonus Marks or relaxation in Physical Measurement Standards (for sports person only), his candidature is liable to be CANCELLED at any stage of recruitment.
- The above marks are fixed depending upon the eligibility of a candidate and have no relation to his performance in Common Entrance Examination (CEE).
- Maximum bonus marks that can be given is 25 Marks even if a candidate qualifies for more than one type of bonus marks except Agniveer (Technical).
- Maximum bonus marks that can be given to Agniveer (Technical) is 50 Marks if he is qualified in ITI/Diploma {Serial 6(h) refers}.
- Only ONE son/daughter of Service/Ex-Servicemen/War Widow/Widow of Ex-servicemen can avail bonus marks in written examination.
- All original certificates and mark sheets including the highest qualification as filled up in the online application form are to be carried by all above categories at the rally site.
- Sports Certificates are valid for TWO YEARS from the first day of Common Entrance Examination.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- Enrolment: AGNIVEER will be enrolled in the Indian Army under the Indian Army Act 1950 for a period of four years. AGNIVEER would form a distinct rank in the Indian Army, different from any other existing ranks. The Indian Army is not obliged to retain AGNIVEER beyond the engagement period.
- Future Enrolment: On completion of four years, based on organizational requirements and policies, AGNIVEER may be offered an opportunity to apply for permanent enrolment. Applications will be centrally considered based on performance. Up to 25% of each batch may be enrolled in the regular cadre. AGNIVEER will not have any right to further enrolment; selection will remain at the discretion of the Indian Army.
- Employability: AGNIVEER are liable to be assigned any duty in organizational interest, at the discretion of the Indian Army.
- Training: On enrolment, AGNIVEER will undergo military training based on requirements of the Indian Army.

Leave: Grant of leave will be subject to exigencies of service:
- Annual Leave: 30 days per year
- Sick Leave: Based on medical advice
- Medical and CSD Facilities: AGNIVEER will be entitled to medical facilities at Service Hospitals and CSD provisions during the engagement period.
- Pay, Allowances and Allied Benefits: AGNIVEER will receive a fixed yearly increment package, along with Risk and Hardship Allowances, Dress, and Travel Allowances as applicable.
- Terminal Benefits – Seva Nidhi Package: On completion of the engagement, AGNIVEER will receive a one-time Seva Nidhi package, comprising their monthly contribution plus a matching government contribution.
- Insurance, Death and Disability Compensation: AGNIVEER will receive a non-contributory life insurance cover of Rs 48 lakhs during their engagement. They will not be governed by Pension Regulations/Rules of the Indian Army.
- Agniveer Skill Certificate: At the end of the engagement, a detailed Skill-Set Certificate will be provided highlighting skills and competency acquired during service.
- Ex-Servicemen Status: Personnel under this scheme will not be eligible for Ex-Servicemen status.
- Marital Status: Only unmarried candidates are eligible for enrolment. They must undertake not to marry during the four-year period. Agniveers who marry during service will be released. Only unmarried Agniveers will be eligible for re-enrolment in regular cadre as Sepoy/equivalent on selection.
SEQUENCE OF RECRUITMENT
18. Procedure for Online Registration
- Profile Creation: All candidates must log in to www.joinindianarmy.nic.in, check their eligibility status, and create their profile. Candidates should fill in their Highest Educational Qualification during registration and the education qualification mandated as per the category applied for during the application stage.

Examination Fee: Examination fee of Rs 250/- per category of application is to be paid by the candidate for the online examination. After successfully filling the application, the candidate will be directed to the HDFC portal through a link on the website. Payment options include:
- Payment Gateway Facility through Maestro, Master Card, VISA, Rupay Cards (Credit & Debit of all major banks)
- Internet banking of HDFC and other banks
- UPI
- Candidates must have an active email and mobile number for communication.
- Candidates must fill in their correct height (up to millimeter) as per the category applied for, regional physical measurement standards, and special relaxations in height and weight as laid out on the official website. Providing wrong height/weight or fake certificates will lead to cancellation of candidature during Phase-II (Recruitment Rally).
- Candidates must indicate five choices for the exam centre. All possible effort will be made to allot the exam centre based on candidate choice, but administrative restrictions may result in a different allotment.
- Requests for change of exam centre or date of selection test will not be entertained.
- Candidates must enter their AADHAAR number in the online application.
- Category-wise links are provided on the JIA website to enable candidates to practice the online Common Entrance Exam. All candidates are advised to practice at least once before appearing for the exam.
- Animated videos ‘How to Register’ and ‘How to Appear for Online Common Entrance Exam’ are available on www.joinindianarmy.nic.in.
- Candidates must upload a recent photograph. If the photo does not match the face of the candidate, they will not be permitted to appear for any test.
- Details about required educational qualification, physical, and medical standards are available on the JIA website under Candidates Login and can be accessed without signing in.

Recruitment Process: Recruitment will be conducted in two phases:
- Phase I: Online Common Entrance Exam at Computer-Based Test Centres allotted to the candidate.
- Phase II: Recruitment Rally by Army Recruiting Offices at the Rally Venue.
Phase-I
20. Online Common Entrance Examination (CEE)
- Admit Card: Candidates must report at the examination centre with a colour printout of the Admit Card. Candidates will be debarred from appearing in the online test if anomalies, irregularities, or incorrect information are observed during initial verification or at any subsequent stage. Admit Card can be downloaded from www.joinindianarmy.nic.in.
- Candidates not reporting for the test on the due date and time will not be accommodated later.
- Entry gates at the exam centre will open 1.5 hours prior to the scheduled time and close 30 minutes before the exam. No candidate will be allowed to enter once the gate is closed.
- Candidates should carry their Aadhaar Card (as displayed on the Admit Card) as proof of identity for both phases: Online CEE and Recruitment Rally/Medical Test.
- No electronic gadgets are permitted at examination centres. Activities at the exam centre include:
- Frisking at Entry Gate
- Checking of Admit Card & Aadhaar Card at the checking point
- Auto-allotment of Exam Hall
- Attendance at Exam Hall Gate
- Capture of Biometric (IRIS/Retina, Photo & Thumb impression) inside the exam hall
- Login to allotted computer terminal
- Appear for test as per procedure
- Exit Biometric before leaving the Examination Hall
- Common Entrance Examination (CEE) will be conducted in 13 languages: English, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Punjabi, Odiya, Bengali, Urdu, Gujarati, Marathi, and Assamese.
- Online test will be objective Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQ). Depending on the category, candidates must answer either 50 questions in 1 hour or 100 questions in 2 hours.
- Marking Pattern:
- Full marks for each correct answer
- Nil marks for unattempted questions
- All attempted questions, even if marked for review, will be considered for evaluation
- Typing Test for Agniveer Clerk / Store Keeper Technical: Candidates will undertake a typing test during the online CEE. Typing speed of 30 words per minute (wpm) in English is desirable. Only those who qualify will be eligible for Phase-II of the recruitment process.
- Marks scored in the Online CEE will be normalized to account for variations in difficulty levels across different sessions.
- Any candidate found using unfair means will not be allowed to complete the test, and their candidature will be cancelled.
Phase – II
21. Proportionate to the vacancies available candidates would be shortlisted by applying a cut off in written exam result. The Roll No of the candidates who are in merit will be published on Join Indian Army website. These candidates will receive a second Admit Card for balance of recruitment process as per Rally Schedule of Army Recruiting Offices. The Admit Card for Phase II of recruitment process can also be downloaded online under candidate’s login (profile) on Join Indian Army web portal https://joinindianarmy.nic.in. (The sequence of Phase II of Recruitment Rally is as per www.joinindianarmy.nic.in/recruitment). Shortlisted candidates have to report on the stipulated date and time for phase II at the designated Recruitment Rally venue with following document /certificate in original alongwith two attested photocopies with them. :-

Note-
- The timings for 1.6 km run and the marks assigned to the groups can be changed by the Indian Army at any stage before the recruitment rally. Candidates must check timings on the Join Indian Army Website before the start of the recruitment rally.
- Candidates appearing for Agniveer Technical and Agniveer Clerk/Store Keeper Technical only need to qualify in all tests.
- Physical Measurement Test (At Rally Site): Physical measurement will be carried out as per the laid down region-based and category-wise physical standards. Relaxation will be accepted based on authorized supporting documents.
- Adaptability Test: All candidates who qualify the Physical Fitness Test (PFT) & Physical Measurement Test (PMT) will have to undertake the Adaptability Test. This test evaluates candidates’ ability to adapt to the environment and challenges of military life. Candidates who qualify will proceed to Medical Examination. The test will be conducted on a tablet/mobile phone and has no fixed syllabus.

Medical Examination:
- Conducted for candidates who qualify PFT, PMT, and Adaptability Test by Army Medical Team at Rally Site as per Army standards.
- Candidates declared unfit can request a review by a Specialist at Military/Base/Command Hospital on a date fixed by the Medical Officer.
- The recruitment medical officer and specialist doctors are final authorities for declaring fitness. No appeals or re-reviews are allowed after review.
- Passing the medical exam is not a guarantee for employment.
- Candidates should undergo medical checks in advance for flat foot, poor vision, deformities, and other issues. Ensure ears are cleaned before rally.
- If 270 days or more lapse between screening and despatch, medical examination will be repeated.
- Use of contact lenses is not permitted.
- Candidates discharged from Indian Armed Forces for any reason are not eligible to appear.

Special Instructions:
- Admit Card not received 5 days prior: Approach Army Recruiting Office.
- Age eligibility verified via Birth Certificate & 10th Class marksheet.
- Report at Rally Site by 0400h hours. Candidates after 0600h without justification will be barred. Must be clean-shaven (except Sikh candidates).
- Personal email and mobile number mandatory for communication.
- Carry Aadhaar Card for biometric authentication; ensure details match documents and application.
- Name, parent’s name, DOB must match Matric certificate.
- Permanent address must match Domicile/Nativity/Residence Certificate.
- Possession of required documents is mandatory for participation.
- Avoid touts; recruitment is merit-based and automated. Beware of fake PFT slips, impersonation, or bribery attempts.
- A Grievance Cell will be available at the Rally Site.
- Recruitment is based on merit; passing alone does not guarantee selection.
- Certificates must be original and free from tampering.

Important Instructions:
- Entry only on production of Admit Card. Fake cards handed to police.
- Bribery or submission of fake documents is punishable; candidates will be handed to police.
- Check age & education eligibility; underage/overage or incorrect qualification leads to disqualification.
- Certificates with tampering/alteration will be rejected.
- All submitted documents verified by government agencies; fake documents can lead to service termination.
- No compensation for death/injury/loss during rally; participation is voluntary with mandatory indemnity bond.
- Character certificate must have photo and attestation.
- Report only on the Admit Card date; bring pen and handkerchief.
- Performance enhancing or contraband drugs are banned; violation leads to disqualification.
- Selection provisional until candidates report to training centre and enrolment forms are filled.
- Candidates must report shaved (except Sikh candidates) for identification at rally stages.
- Multiple visits (2-3 times) to rally site may be required; accommodation at own cost.
- Final result declared on Join Indian Army Website; no separate letters will be sent.
- Use suitable running footwear for 1.6 km run as it may be on road/hard surface.
